Can I ship personal items in my car?

Personal items are not allowed to load in your vehicle while it is in transit on a car carrier moving across state lines but only one suitcase or box in the trunk that is less than 100 lbs is allowed without cost. If you want to load more items in your vehicle, please contact us for a quote.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

From the very first moment your car get loaded on the truck, your vehicle is fully insured up to the moment it is taken off. Other than your car,any contents left in the vehicle are not insured.

Are personal items in the car insured?

Personal items are not under coverage of cargo insurance.

What should I do if my car is damaged during transport?

Please inspect your vehicle before taking delivery. If there is any damage, please follow the instruction; ? Write down damages on the Bill of Lading/Vehicle Condition report. ? Collect a copy of your delivery Bill of Lading from the trucker. ? Take some pictures on-site of the damages. ? Contact Prime Express to request trucker Certificate of Insurance ? Submit a claim.

What is the type of insurance my vehicle is under during transport?

We insure your vehicle under Inland Marine Cargo Insurance. This insurance protects goods while in transit on land. It is an outgrowth of the Ocean Marine insurance, and it compensates for losses and damages to the objects being moved.

What if there is damage to my car caused by my personal items?

Damage caused by your personal items to your car is not under insurance coverage. Personal items can damage the interior of your car due to possible shifting caused by vibrations on the way. Any damages to the interior caused by personal items are not covered by the carrier's cargo insurance policy.

How is the value of my car determined under the Inland Marine insurance policy?

The car value will be determined based on the actual cash value of the vehicle at the time of transport.

Do my vehicle need to be insured to ship it?

It is recommended but not required. We’ll insure your vehicle by the Truckers cargo and liability policies as well as Expressway’s “Contingent Cargo Insurance” which protects you for up to $250,.
